1. Who We Are
Crisp Services is an AI-powered communication service for small and medium-sized businesses, based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. We help service businesses capture and respond to leads through automated voice, SMS, and review systems.
Contact: inquire@crispservices.ca
2. Information We Collect
We collect personal information only as needed to deliver our service:
- Phone numbers — provided by callers when they contact a Crisp-powered business, or entered directly by visitors using our demos.
- Call recordings and transcripts — captured during AI-handled calls for quality assurance and to generate call summaries.
- SMS message content — text conversations between our system and callers responding to missed-call follow-ups.
- Business contact details — name and email of business owners who book a discovery call or become clients.
- Usage data — anonymized analytics (via Plausible Analytics) on how visitors interact with our website. No cookies are set; no cross-site tracking occurs.
3. How We Use Your Information
Personal information is used solely to:
- Respond to missed calls on behalf of our client businesses via SMS or AI voice.
- Book appointments and qualify leads for our client businesses.
- Send Google review requests to customers of our client businesses after a completed job (with prior express or implied consent).
- Provide call summaries and lead logs to the business owner through their Crisp dashboard.
- Respond to demo inquiries submitted through our website.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to third parties. We do not use personal information for advertising.
4. Legal Basis and Consent (CASL)
All outbound SMS messages sent through Crisp Services comply with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Messages are sent only where:
- Express consent exists — the recipient has explicitly opted in to receive messages, or
- Implied consent exists — the recipient initiated contact (e.g., placed a call to the business) and the message directly relates to that inquiry.
Every outbound message identifies the sending business, provides a clear opt-out mechanism, and honours STOP requests immediately and permanently.
5. Where Your Data Is Stored
All personal data is stored in Canada. We use Supabase (Canada Central — ca-central-1 region) as our database provider. No personal data is transferred outside of Canada for storage purposes.
Subprocessors used to deliver our service include:
- Supabase — database and authentication (Canada Central)
- Vercel — web hosting (CDN may operate internationally for static assets only)
- Twilio — telephony carrier for SMS and call routing
- Cal.com — appointment booking
Each subprocessor is bound by data processing agreements and industry-standard security practices.
6. How Long We Keep Data
- Call recordings and transcripts — retained for 90 days, then deleted.
- SMS message logs — retained for 12 months for CASL compliance records, then deleted.
- Lead records — retained as long as the client business is active on Crisp, or until deletion is requested.
- Opt-out records — retained indefinitely to ensure we honour opt-outs.
7. Your Rights (PIPEDA)
Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction — request that inaccurate information be corrected.
- Withdrawal of consent — withdraw consent for us to use your information at any time, subject to legal or contractual obligations.
- Deletion — request that your personal information be deleted, except where we are required to retain it by law.
To exercise any of these rights, email inquire@crispservices.ca. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Opt-Out of SMS Messages
To stop receiving SMS messages from a Crisp-powered business, reply STOP to any message. Your number will be immediately and permanently removed from that business's outbound list. No further messages will be sent.
You may also submit an opt-out request by emailing inquire@crispservices.ca with your phone number and the name of the business.
9. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS), role-based access controls, and regular security reviews. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. If you have concerns about a specific data handling practice, contact us directly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted with an updated date at the top of this page. Continued use of our service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
